Gadutea, officially the Free State of Gadutea (Gadutean: Fräi Staat Gadutea), (Stedorian: Libatat Gaduteäna), is an island and independent country located in southeastern Argis. The island nation is located south of Stedoria and southeast of Sawbrania. It is a unitary presidential republic with a population of approximately 300,000 people. The island is ethnically mixed, being made up of Gaduteans, originially from Dolchland, and Stedorians, originally from Gadutea's northern neighbour, Stedoria.

Originally part of the Dolch Empire, following Stedoria's independence in the 16th century, the island was conquered by the newly-independent Kingdom of Stedoria. The island remained apart of Stedoria until the First Stedorian Revolution, in which the island declared it independence and remained a monarchist, anti-republican stronghold against the newly-formed Stedorian Republic. Following the collapse of the republic, the island came under Stedorian control once again.

During a period of modernisation for Stedoria, Gadutea would become an important shipbuilding hub, and would remain the main base for the Stedorian navy. Following the 1971 Stedorian coup d'état during the Second Argic War, the newly established Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces of Stedoria quickly established peace through the Treaty of Tenby, pulling Stedoria out of the war, but also establishing the island of Gadutea as an independent free state, from which it has remained to the present day.

The island is a high-functioning democracy; concerns regarding democratic backsliding were made during the administration of the Dolchic Socialist Gemotam Party on the island, but following their defeat in general elections in 2022, these fears were alleviated. The country is a middle-income economy, a popular tourist destination, and widely viewed as a tax haven.
