The Nupasha river dolphin (Platanistidae rajus) is a species of toothed whale classified in the family Platanistidae. It lives in the Nupasha and related rivers of central Orient, namely in the countries of Kotowari and Mahana. It is related to the much smaller Boas river dolphin which lives in the Boas River in Mekabiri.
It is also known by the name kusu (popular name) or "Kisu" (Kotowari* language). It is recognised by Kotowari as it's national aquatic animal.
Despite it's most common name being 'Nupasha river dolphin', it also goes by kusu or Kisu which relate to a character from Hindu mythology of the same name.
