Providence, or formally The State of Providence, is a State of Delamaria located in the Edwardsland Region of Delamaria, it borders Labrador, New Bedford and New Guernsey. The Capital and most populated city in Providence is Rhodeport, followed by Bridgehaven and Port Arthur.
The state is named after the Providence, a ship which carried the first settlers to the shores of what is now Cape Hope. The state is a cultural and historical centre for its involvement in the settling of Delamaria, and the formation of the Commonwelath, of which Providence was the first State to be officially part of the new nation.
The state is home to almost 700,000 citizens, with 37,000 being born in foreign countries, this is the highest proportion the country, many are enticed to the state by its many universities, which can lead to permenant residency through the EPRP Act which allows those who have studied in Delamaria to become citizens upon their graduation.
