Aconism is a polytheistic religion on Eurth. All of its followers are native to the isles of Oyus. Founded by the prophet Sulistio in Holy Shore. While tribes rose and fell, Aconism was the only constant in life for Oyusard islanders. The foundation of Aconism can be linked to the merging of classic tribal stories and fables that circled around three primary gods: Acona, Alon, and Lux.
The Three Gods
Acona, the Goddess of life, fertility, peace, and resolution. She is considered a mother and has heavily influenced Oyus culture in being more female dominant as opposed to male dominant. Acona is said to appear as a half human, half fish being. She is the first being of existence and is the one that created the world as we know it.
Alon, the God of conflict, crops, and protection. He was created and empowered by Acona and is considered the father figure in the mythology and heavily influenced Oyusard society’s role for males. A hard worker and laborer, and loyal helper to Acona (women). He helps her reach high in the skies and brings the day. Alon is said to appear as a falcon when not human.
Lux (or Luxo), the Goddess (or God) of the night, mischief, death, and the unknown. She brings the night when a tired Alon must rest. Unable to protect Acona or other beings, Lux takes advantage and attempts to lure many to their death sooner than later. She is often the antagonist of cautionary tales. While it is generally understood Lux is female, there are times when the deity can also be male in form (Luxo). Lux is said to be a hybrid of the Oyus Clouded Leopard and human.
