Conover is a Delamarian privately held global extraction, energy, communications, and food conglomerate based in Cargill, Pawnee, and incorporated in Quimby, New Bedford. Conover has frequently been the subject of criticism related to the environment, human rights, finance, and other ethical considerations.

Some of Conover's major businesses are trading, purchasing and distributing oil, coal, energy, natural gas, grain, and other agricultural commodities, such as palm oil; trading in energy, steel, and transport; the raising of livestock and production of feed; and producing food ingredients such as starch, glucose and corn syrups, vegetable oils and fats for application in processed foods and industrial use. The company is the largest producer of corn syrup on Eurth, accounting for almost 45% of global production. Conover also has a large financial services arm, which manages financial risks in the commodity markets for the company, as well as managing its many corporate investments that span the globe. In 2022 the company launched its food and beverage division, the division owns several major food and beverage companies such as NewBev, Heinhauser and MarkiPlace.

History

Conover was founded in 1862 in Cargill, Pawnee, by Henry Conover, a fourth generation farmer in Pawnee. Originally as a group of farms, it expanded to the sugar industry, primarily in Lanada. Where it played a large role in the Delamarian annexation, to allow easier trade and bolster Delamarian influence. Conover was able to gain unprecedented access to the President and many members of congress, which prompted anti-corruption investigations at the time. However Conover was able to maintain its ties to the government despite the investigations.

Conover later expanded into agricultural products and later chemicals following the creation of the Conover Chemical Institute. Conover went on to invest huge sums into several projects, ranging from advanced powerplants to early telephone systems. By 1920 Conover was the largest food producer in Delamaria and was a rising star in the chemical industry.

Conover fulfilled many contracts for the McMadden Regime however was cleared of any wrongdoing by later inquiries. During the First Argic War Conover devoted its entire industrial capacity towards the war effort, investing in aerospace companies such as Wendall, half of which would be owned by Conover until 1986. A member of the Conover family, Robert Conover would be elected President of Delamaria in 1980. During his term Conover became the largest corporation in Delamaria, and one of the largest private companies in the wurld. Conover expanded rapidly into the fields of energy and extraction, being the largest landowners in the country, the company was well placed to become a giant in the natural gas and oil industry.

In the 21st century Conover has maintained its status as a 'megacorporation' holding interests in nearly all major industries. In 2005 the company began a series of rapid purchases in the food, beverage, financial, information, television and retail sectors. Due to the company expanding in numerous industries and not investing so much into one sector, the comapny was able to avert possible anti-trust litigation.
