List of Departments of the Holy Imperial Government

The Holy Imperial Government of the Greater Holy Empire of Tagmatium exercises its executive authority through a number of Ministries (Laimiaic: Logothesia, singular: Logothesion), as well as several other executive and non-executive departments. There are 21 Logothesia and 9 departments ranked as Logothesia. The heads of these departments sit in the Holy Imperial Cabinet (Laimiaic: Agios Basilikon Vestiarion). All Ministries are headed by a Grand Minister (Laimiaic: Megas Logothetes), altough some have differing titles due to historic reasons. The Grand Ministers are assisted by a team of junior ministers, as well as employed officials known as ministerial civil servants (Laimiaic: Asekretis).

Ministerial Departments

The Logothesia oversee many of the functions of the government of Tagmatium. Many of them can trace their lineages back a thousand years or more, although others, such as the Ministry of Electricity, are much more modern. These are the first-level executive bodies of the government that manage a specific sector of public administration. Alongside the Grand Minister, who sits on the Holy Imperial Cabinet, there are varying numbers more junior ministers, who may often have specialisations within the ministry itself. For example, a junior foreign minister may focus on the nations of south western Amutia whilst a junior energy minister may oversee an ongoing programme of installing solar panels on houses in rural areas.

The civil servants of the ministries manage its usual operations and are hired on merit and ability, rather than appointed by the Grand Minister or the Holy Emperor themselves.
