The Sea, Sex and Sun Corporation is a San Castellinos multinational that contributes significantly to the country's GDP. It is a corporation of different companies - most of them illegal - that have been bought out or that joined themselves.

History

Origins and foundation

At the beginning of the 1940s, the traces of the civil war are still very present and drug cartels take advantage of this to create and grow. Cartel wars are commonplace and are tearing the country apart. In 1942, Rodrigo Rodriguez, the dictator in place, negotiated with the three main cartels - led by Pablo de la Plata, Pedro Garcia and Pepito Pipeto respectively - to create a corporation grouping these three cartels and thus put an end to the great gang wars. In addition, the San Castellinos government unofficially gave them the right to practice their activities in exchange for a large financial compensation and the practice of legal activities such as tourism or hotel business to give the corporation an officially legal existence. It was officially created on November 21, 1942 after long negotiations and took the name Sea, Sex and Sun Corporation, a name that would become a slogan often used by tourist agencies about San Castellino.

Development and Golden Years

The "Mariachi disaster"

In 1988, the Sex, Sea and Sun Corporation was making huge profits and even had the luxury of being the most profitable san castellino company. But that only lasted for a short time. The following year, in 1989, dictator Carlos Mariachi made a speech announcing an increase in taxes levied on the corporation in order to increase the budget of the Ministry of Education. This caused a lot of noise in the party and was the only thing that was talked about for several months. Rafael de la Plata, the CEO of the Corporation, responded by expanding the corporation in neighboring countries. A kind of cold war was established between the dictator and the CEO. The two sides were provocative for almost five years, but it was not until November 1994 that this affront reached a new level. In a speech that was broadcast on all possible media, Carlos Mariachi said that the Sea, Sex and Sun Corporation brought ungodliness, corruption and poverty to the people. He then ordered the arrest of Rafael de la Plata and his main shareholders on charges of corruption, premeditated homicide, production of illegal substances, trade in illegal substances, tax evasion, encouragement of prostitution, attack on the Catholic Church, and offense to public morality. According to the version given by the current San Castellinos government, these charges were erroneous, which contradicts all the investigations carried out by some journalists on this subject. Finally, the dictator announced that the Sea, Sex and Sun will now be dismantled, that all its legal subsidiaries will be nationalized, and that all its illegal subsidiaries will be tracked down by the military - San Castellino has no police force as such, so the military is fulfilling this role. Rafael de la Plata and the main shareholders flee in Nouvelle-Lyrie to avoid being arrested and conspire with some high-ranking army officers to overthrow Mariachi. But they did not need to put their plan into action since, in January 1990, the dictator proclaimed in a speech the end of National-Capitalism and the immediate establishment of a social nationalism in order to eradicate poverty and hunger. He embarked on numerous reforms, bringing for the first time social assistance, paid vacations and social housing to San Castellino, and even authorizing the creation of unions for workers and peasants. These reforms, considered too costly, unnecessary and above all politically too leftist by the majority of the government, reinforced the party's idea of deposing Carlos Mariachi. The impeachment procedure was launched at the end of January 1995 and the party voted 92% in favor of removing Carlos Mariachi from office. But he refused, and the army, sharing the party's opinion, entered the presidential palace by force to arrest the dictator. Carlos Mariachi was condemned to death and was then guillotined on March 11, 1995. He was succeeded by Olivo Rodríguez, son of General Rodrigo Rodríguez. He invited Rafael de la Plata to return to San Castellino and the Sea, Sex and Sun Corporation was reformed. On the other hand, contrary to what one might think, Olivo Rodriguez did not remove the reforms made by General Mariachi. In spite of the numerous subsidies and tax cuts, the Sea, Sex and Sun Corporation will never fully recover from this event, which will cost it the place of first company in San Castellino.
