The Southern Union is a former nation that resided in Far Eastern Argis bordering The Republic of Pentium, to the South is the Geltic Sea and to the west is the Cetan Sea. During the height of its territorial extent, the landmass of the Southern Union was 47,500 km2 (18,300 sq mi) and had a population of 18,000,000 at its height. The government was an oligarchic union of smaller states and cities that formed as a response from the North River Federation forming and defeating its neighbors in armed conflict. The area has been inhabited by the same Geltic people that the rest of Argis. The ruling oligarchy was a mix of several high level bureaucrats, businessmen, politicians and military personnel. They led the nation through several successful campaigns and operations while within Pentium, but ultimately failed to take over the Republic and were defeated rapidly after their frontline collapsed. After the peace deal in 1964, the Southern Union was fully annexed into the Republic of Pentium.
