The Troubles

The troubles was a period pivotal in the formation of the North River Federation, where several rival clans of different empires and mercenaries formed a coalition in invade the city states of what it now The Republic of Pentium. Causing widespread destruction and havoc, the cities of Whedon's Row and Riversguard formed a defensive alliance that managed to repel the invaders and rally additional city states to the cause of defending themselves collectively. Eventually forming what would become a major political force in the region for nearly 900 years. The troubles started in 935 AD, and would come to a close in 1012 AD when the overwhelming majority of Pentian city states were under the control of the Federation and the western border cities had been restored as the defenders of the realm. The Troubles would usher in the Era of Calm, where the Federation would rise to new heights of prosperity and wealth.
