Pico del Alba (Anglish: Dawn Peak) is Eurth highest mountain, located in the region of the Cordillera del Sol. It has an elevation (snow height) of 9,554.83 m (31,168 ft).
Pico del Alba attracts many climbers, including highly experienced mountaineers. While not posing substantial technical climbing challenges on the standard route, Pico del Alba presents dangers such as altitude sickness, weather, and wind, as well as hazards from avalanches. As of September 2023, 457 people have died on Pico del Alba. Over 180 bodies remain on the mountain and have not been removed due to the dangerous conditions.
The first recorded efforts to reach Pico del Alba's summit were made by Ateenian mountaineers. Many attempts were also made by the Aurivizhs, but it wasn't until 1953 that the Tango Dawn Peak Expedition managed to reach the summit.
