This guide to the lore of Eurth serves as an OOC explanation for new players. Beware that these contents contain a mix of both IC and OOC references.

Geography

  • Eurth is not Earth.
  • The climate is slightly warmer.
  • The New World is written as New Wurld.
  • Nobody owns the southern continent of Antargis. It is administrated by the ARTHA.
  • All empty land is considered to be peopled, but through “fog of war” these countries don't communicate much.

To-do:

  • Explain the Sanar System.
  • Where is the highest mountain? My best guess would be somewhere in Mesothalassa?

History

  • No Bering Strait — Azano-Marenesian explorers sailed to Marenesia around 50,000 BCE. This was a very slow process. Their descendents would be the first to find the New Wurld (Argis, Alharu, Aurelia). These events happened before the written word. On several occasions, the New Wurld was “re-discovered” by later groups of peoples.
  • No Roman Empire — The Aroman Empire existed as an analogue, but with predominantly Greek-Byzantine origins. The cultural heir to this legacy is in Occidental Europa, centred around Tagmatium. There exist countries in the New Wurld who trace their origins back to Aroma. For example: the Great Aroman migration to Salvia in 125 CE.
  • Some Vikings — Buranian sailers, notorious for their coastal raids and city sackings, also sail into the Adlantic Ocean to hunt for whales. Some of them arrived at the tip of East Argis.
  • No Christopher Columbus — The Age of Discovery is called the Age of Reconnection, when the old and new wurlds re-established their lines of communication.
    • !French Lysians move to Argis in the 1500s, which leads to Delamaria.
    • !Spanish Gran Viatge (1593-1620), involving religious undertones and connection with West Argis.
    • !English People of Great Anglia arrived in Kingsland in 1842, which leads to Gallambria.
  • Renaissance and Enlightenment are combined into one longer period called the Elevation.
  • No World Wars — There were no real analogues to WW1 or WW2. Instead, there were multiple intercontinental wars.
  • No British Empire, United States, or USSR.

Politics

  • Do we have Socialism or Communism? There exist some references to the invention of Plebism, Commonism, or Oikomunism.
  • Are there analogues to the USA and USSR?
  • The number of nuclear armed states is undefined, but surely limited.
  • There are no superpowers, instead we operate in a multipolar world.

Economy

  • Technological development is approximately 3–5 years behind.
  • Thorium energy is not operational.
  • The Adapton Solidus is our common currency standard for calculating exchange rates.

  • Greek is called Laimaic, from Tagmatium.
  • French is called Lysian, from Lysia.
  • English is called Anglish, from Great Anglia.
  • Italian is called Cristinese, from Cristina.
  • Corsican is called Mantellan, from Mantella.
  • Celtic peoples are called Gelts.
  • German is called Dolch, and originates in Dolchland.
    • Germanic is, because of this, replaced with "Dolchic".
  • Slavic is called Yasic.
  • Czech is called Ustokan and is used in multiple nations in Central Argis.
  • Sorbian is called Malenik. It still divides into Upper and Lower Malenik languages. It is used in multiple nations in Central Argis.
  • Slovak is called Nitiran. It is used in multiple nations in Central Argis.
  • Polish is called Malskic. It is used in multiple nations in Central Argis.
  • Danish is called Littish. It is the official language in Littland.

Religion

  • Judaism is Yehudism from Bashan.
  • Christianity exists. Catholicism is Tacolism. There are also Burritonians, a schismatic sect of the Iberican Tacolic Church.
    • A pope lives in Salvia.
    • The Enlightened Aroman Church is the parent Church of the Ahranaian Orthodox Church. The Ahranaian Old Believers were a Schism group, founded in 1607CE, from the Ahranaian Orthodox Church till 2022 CE.
    • The Aroman Church may have considered the Ahranaian Orthodox followers heretics for the usage of Icons in Churches and Homes, which is also part of the reason of the split.
    • The Orthodox Church of Littland was granted Autocephaly in 1200CE by the Ahranaian Orthodox Church under the Ahranaian Empire by a Toma by the Patriarch of Peterburi.
    • The Orthodox Church of Uppsund was granted Autocephaly in 1801 with the first Patriarch being elected in 1806 by the Ahranaian Orthodox and Orthodox Community in the Central Region of Argis.
    • The Orthodox Church of Elde, Stemas, Hveradalur, and Dniester were granted Autocephaly in 1900 by the Patriarch of Peterburi by Tomas. The first Patriarchs of each Church followed between the next 2-4 years by Election by the Ahranaian Orthodox and Orthodox Community in the Central Region of Argis.

  • Will there be more than one type of Islam, for example: Sunii, Shia, Kharijite, etc.?
  • What about other religions? Do we have any Buddhism?
  • When was Christianity brought over to the New Wurld?
  • What year were these Christian Church granted Autonomy or Autocephalous from their respected parent Churches, meaning the New Wurld Churches?
  • When did the Iconoclasm in the Aroman Church happen? Is this in conjunction with the split of the Aroman and Ahranaian Churches?
  • Add the dates to important events in the Christian Lore such as the Introduction, Official Adoption of the Faith, Creation of the Nation(s) Church, Autocephalous Status, and so forth.
  • Describe and figure out if Coptic Orthodox is in Communion with the rest of Eurth Orthodox Churches; or is the Coptic Church of Qudbi part of the Orthodox Church?
