The Misra Dynasty (Mahanan: मिश्र राजवंश, Miśra Rājavanśa), commonly referred to as the Misrans were a Sheshtri dynasty that ruled as the royal family of Mahana from 1902 up until dissolution at the end of the Mahanan Civil War in 1992[2]. The Misrans are often known historically for an iron-fist rule over Mahana in the late 1900s. This changed in 1992, when the climax of the civil war ended in the massacre at the royal palace and displacement of the royals, being replaced by the Mahanan Congress.

Background

The Misran dynasty originates from a strong Sheshtri caste background, with both founders Prajeeta and Charandra originating from the Sheshtri background. The family trace it's routes back early to Namdatka, according to genetic studies done of family descendants.

History

The Misra Dynasty was founded in 1902, when Prajeeta II was coronated as the only heir to the throne in Mahana. Due to customary tradition this lead to the foundation of a new dynasty, with Prajeeta being the first female monarch since 1666 upon her coronation. She took her husband Charandra's name, forming the dynasty in 1902.
