History
Tamurin and Orioni Ferry Company began its ferry operations in Hlondeth in 1967 with a route to Nordhaven using the MS Cinkam, a roll-on/roll-off (RORO) ferry. T&O eventually supplemented the Hlondeth-Nordhaven route with the three sisters, MS Ciruttai, MS Kukar and MS Puli, all former Miirosi ferries. By the 1970s, they added destinations in Mekabiri to their route. In the same period, is also rebranded as P&O Ferries to reflect the new international ambitions. In the 1980s, T&O acquired a majority stake in the relatively small Sarvoski shipping sector and formally absorbed it into their operations. During the 1990s, with the arrival of inexpensive air travel, T&O refocused the majority of its operations on freight ships.
