The Blue Star Line (BSL) is an Orinese passenger and cargo shipping company formed in 1911. It operates passenger lines between Nordhaven, Zuidhaven and Oriental nations. The company is headquartered in Nordhaven and the CEO is Mr Merikebenya Bahar.

History

Tirojani Star, built in Miiros in 1913 and bought by Blue Star in 1919.

Blue Star Line was formed by the Magwagwazha Sisters from Nordhaven. They developed a large export business for shipping frozen fish from Orioni to Europa.

Formation

• 1911. The Blue Star Line was officially inaugurated on 28 July 1911, initially using chartered ships.
• 1914. The company began to buy their own second-hand ships.
• 1920. The company ordered their first brand-new ship.
• 1925. The company was operating twelve refrigerated cargo ships. Each was marked by white circle with blue five-pointed star on the red background. The suffix "Star" was added to the end of the name of each of its ships.
• 1930. The company expanded its operations to include services across the Oriental Ocean to Argis, Alharu and Aurealia.
• 1935. A new refrigerated cargo ship was introduced that could also carry other frozen foodstuffs.

Conflicts

• 1930s. During the Long War (1932-1956) the company supplied resources to both belligerents.
• 1940. Blue Star expanded into passenger transport, notably with five ocean liners for its new route Zuidhaven — Sunset City — Maimedo. Blue Star Line now had global interests, with ports of call along the Oriental Ocean, in Argis, Alharu, Aurelia, Thalassa and Europa.
• 1940s. During the Thalassan War (1941-1947) the company suffered heavy losses. 30 ships were sunk and another 15 vessels were seriously damaged.

Birazīli Star, launched in 1950, was one of the replacements for war losses.

Expansion

• 1948. To rebuild its fleet, the Blue Star Line began buying and consolidating other maritime companies. This was supplemented by the purchase or hire of existing ships.
• 1952. Blue Star Line took over the North Europan routes previously operated by unfortunate Ide Jiman companies.
• 1960s. Entered a partnership with Cristinese and Miirosi shippers to form the Meteorolan Shipping Company.
• 1970s. Blue Star Line gradually moved towards containerization.
• 2005. The company purchased a majority stake in T&O Ferries.
