Universal Exports, also known simply as UNEX, is an Orinese logistics company specialised in oceanic freight transport and shipping. It also provides associated services, such as shipping routes, freight tariffs, supply chain management, and port operation. UNEX is the largest container shipping line in the wurld since 1969. Within Orioni it operates the Zuidmax Container Terminal which is an expanded development of the Port of Zuidhaven. The company is based in Zuidhaven, Orioni. Its current CEO is Mr Negade Tajir. UNEX has wurldwide offices in 132 countries, and employs around 93,000 people in 2024.

History

The company was previously known as Transwurld Consortium (TWC), which specialised in the transportation of crude oil. It was founded on 28 May 1908 by former naval officer Lanika Siteri, Commander in the Imperial Orinese Navy.[a][b] Over the decades, Transwurld Consortium grew to become was one of the most influential oil shipping companies in the wurld. Its operating fleet included the MV Liparus, which at the time was the second-largest tanker by gross tonnage in the world. The 1940s and 1950s were a period of major glubal conflicts, including the Long War, Thalassan War, and First Argic War. These threats increased the company insurance policies. The company came under serious financial pressure, and was nearing bankruptcy.

On 5 April 1954, the Transwurld Consortium was bought by Yochanani Filamēniko, who promptly renamed the company to Universal Exports.[c][d] Filamēniko financed the enterprise with cooperation from his father, Flantin Filamēniko, who at the time was a Member of the Sibiseba.[e]

During the late 1950s, the company became a privileged partner of the Europan Commercial Alliance, and received significant additional funding. This helped the company to adopt the intermodal container standard and support Europan economic integration and Oriental development.

In 2003, the Universal Exports logistics company announced that it would financially support the Zuidhaven International Circuit to help keep the facility open. The circuit was renamed ‘UNEX Zuidhaven International Circuit’ on January 1, 2004.

In June 2020, the UNEX Arenigwade, the new flagship of Orinese liner shipping company Universal Exports, called at the Port Santa Isabella in Cristina on her maiden voyage.[1]
