The Orient is a subcontinent of Eurth, situated in eastern Europa. The area is focused on trade between continental countries and archipelago.
Etymology
The name Orient derives from oriens, the Aroman word meaning "rising" or "to rise". This refers to the place where the San rises. The exists some speculation whether this name is related to the country of ancient Orioni, whose people were sometimes referred to as Orionids.[citation needed] In Proto-Europan the name may have been āmrei or āmros ("morning").[1] In Oharic the name t’ewati ("morning") is also used.
Geography
The Orient is a subcontinent in eastern Europa, home to several nations. It is bordered by the other subcontinent of Burania to the north, Amutia in the west, Azania to the southwest, and includes the most Northeastern islands of Marenesia.

- Mahana
- Mekabiri
- Miiros

History
WIP:
- North: Orient protected from Buranian raids by mercenaries who were allowed to settle the mountain passes in return for military service. --> Qardania + Karthenia (Qara = black; Dan = valley or Dane)
- East: Golden River civilisation based around Jaihu and Koku (!Mekong + !Yangtze) is one of the oldest. Cycles of fracturing + consolidation. (!East Asia + !South Asia)
- South: archipelago civilisations, Orioni, Safiloa, and Pearl Road trade system. (!Southeast Asia)
- West: Shakyan principalities have the closest contact with Amutia. (!India) These include Youtabonia and Mirian Republic, north of that long river. To the south of that river are the Koliyan clans of present-day Kotowari and Sarvoski. Their daughters were married to the chiefs of the Shakyans.
TBD:

- Explain Tamurin --> !Tamils / Sri Lanka, governed by !Germanic nobles after 11th Century conquest.
