The 2020 Delamarian presidential election was the 51st quadrennial presidential election, held on March 23rd, 2021 after a three month postponement. Incumbent United Party President Deborah Van Roose and her running mate, incumbent Vice President William Patton, were elected. They defeated the Liberal ticket of Governor Chris Quetin of Bayland and Senator Len Krowski of Pawnee.
The incumbent president, Van Roose secured the United Party nomination with serious opposition from former Secretary of Foreign Affairs Henry Denby, who was announced as President Pierre Monroe's running mate for the election, prior to the November 22nd Attacks, which killed Monroe and injured Denby. Van Roose also fended off Senator Richard Heyes of Owland of the libertarian faction of the party, and Congressman Francis Montrose, the first ever LGBT member to reach the final rounds of the nomination race.
The Liberals too experienced a competitive primary. Quetin was consistently competitive in the polls and won the support of many party leaders, but he faced challenges from a number of more Left-wing contenders. Quetin secured his party's nomination after the United party chose Van Roose, defeating former Fleuria Governor John Demare, Senator Alejandro Decasio of Dalais, and Swansylvania Delegate Paul Ron, among many other candidates.
