Taruan (Taruan: Arero Tarua [aˈɾeɾo taˈɾua]) is a Marenesian language and the official language of Tarua. It is written in the Latin script, and is the native language of Taruans. It is spoken by approximately 650,000 speakers, the majority of which live in Tarua. It is similar to - and partially intelligible with - Konalanese, spoken in nearby Konalani.
