The Serene Monarchy, also referred to as the Esonian Monarchy, is the traditional monarchy of the Serene Kingdom of Esonice. It is defined as a hereditary monarcho-theocratic institution in which the reigning monarch legitimasies his or her rule by claiming descent and/or claiming to be the avatar incarnation of the mythical "demigod" Jinjin, the first Serene Monarch allegedly descending from Bimotarasu and Tsukomichibiku, the San and Moon Spirits and rulers of Heaven who granted Jinjin supreme dominion over all under Heaven.

Previously, the Serene Monarch reigned from Hasakyō on the Nagaoka Peninsula on Lake Bishimu. The Serene Emperor's Birthday (currently 24 September) is a national holiday.
