Robert "Roy" Hamish Connachta (born 13 November 1956), more commonly known by his Ríogan name of Bricius IV of Gaellicia is the Ríog of the RA.

Military career

Connachta served in the Ríogan Army as an officer, retiring with the rank of Ceannfort (Commandant). Connachta began his army service as a Dara-lefteanant (Second Lieutenant) in the 4th Highland Border Regiment, stationed at Fort Morier on the nation's Southern Border. After a year of service, he found himself dissatisfied with his time in the army which led to him partaking in special forces selection. After distinguishing himself through successive and increasingly difficult trials, he earned himself a coveted spot in the Ríogan Fianóglach (Ríogan Rangers). The elite unit is Gaellicia's dedicated special operations unit, specializing in a number of roles including counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, direct action and covert reconnaissance.

Robert served the remaining 14 years of his military career in the Rangers. He was stationed at the main Fianóglach base in the highlands, Kilabriggan Camp, and deployed to the majority Karaalluk island of Yaran to fight in the Sàmhach Paterazm (Silent War). Much of his military service remains classified. Connachta was awarded the An Bonn Seirbhíse Dearscna le hOnóir (Distinguished Service Medal 1st Class or The Distinguished Service Medal with Honour. Troops that served under him in the service speak highly of his leadership and integrity, with many noting that he defied their expectations being from noble birth.
