Magdalene Áine Luighseach Nic Suileabhan (18 May 1934 - 10 January 2024) was Queen of the Gotneskan’s from her marriage to Patrick XIII in 1956 until his death in 1995. Magdalene would remove herself from public office in a way to not over take away from her Daughter-in-Law Brianna ó Nualláin but also so she could have more time for her numerous Charity’s that she had either started or had helped financially.

Early life

Magdalene Áine Luighseach Nic Suileabhan was born on 18 May 1934 in Quanlaragh. She was the daughter of Sir Aindreas O'Suileabhan and Sorcha Caomhánach.

Queen Magdalene was the youngest of six and the only girl out of all her siblings. One of her siblings was Sir Liam O’Suileabhan.

In September 1943 when Magdalene was 10 her father moved her and the rest of her family to the village of Glenshine. As he was unable to find a spot in the governments legislative and decided to move his family and start a new career in the village of Glenshine and built his family cottage. To this date the family still owns the property.

Magdalene was baptized on 24 June 1934 and was christened 10 September 1944. And was given the name Áine as a secondary middle name. The name canes from Christian St. Áine.

After she finished her primary education she would spend the next three years of her life helping her parents and taking care of family affairs. In 1954 she would met her future husband Patrick XIII.
