Robert "Roy" Hamish Connachta (born 13 November 1956), more commonly known by his Ríogan name of Bricius IV of Gaellicia is the Ríog of the RA.

Military career

Connachta served in the Ríogan Army as an officer, retiring with the rank of Ceannfort (Commandant). Connachta began his army service as a Dara-lefteanant (Second Lieutenant) in the 4th Highland Border Regiment, stationed at Fort Morier on the nation's Southern Border. After a year of service, he found himself dissatisfied with his time in the army which led to him partaking in special forces selection. After distinguishing himself through successive and increasingly difficult trials, he earned himself a coveted spot in the Ríogan Fianóglach (Ríogan Rangers). The elite unit is Gaellicia's dedicated special operations unit, specializing in a number of roles including counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, direct action and covert reconnaissance.

Robert served the remaining 14 years of his military career in the Rangers. He was stationed at the main Fianóglach base in the highlands, Kilabriggan Camp, and deployed to the majority Karaalluk island of Yaran to fight in the Sàmhach Paterazm (Silent War). Much of his military service remains classified. Connachta was awarded the An Bonn Seirbhíse Dearscna le hOnóir (Distinguished Service Medal with Honour.) Troops that served under him in the service speak highly of his leadership and integrity, with many noting that he defied their expectations being from noble birth.

Connachta retired from Army service in 1992.

Political career

Robert became the head of Clan Connachta in 1995 following the death of his mother Catherine Villiers Connachta. As chieftain of his clan, he $achievementsList.

Connachta was selected for the Ríogan in 2007 following the death of Isolde MacTurf. During his tenure as Ríog, he $achievementsList.

Personal life

Connachta was born on 13 November 1956 in Penzance to David Ramius and Catherine Villiers Connachta. His father was a merchant, while his mother dedicated herself to leading Clan Connachta. He is the oldest of five siblings. His younger brother Mario Ramius is current Grand Admiral of the Imperial Orinese Navy. He attained a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Loriet University in Penzance, prior to his Army service. He would later earn a masters in Wurld History, with a Glubal concentration, from Cumberland College. He is fluent in Gaelic and Aurivizht, as well as $language, the native language of his mother. Connachta is married to Lynette $lastName, and they have three children. He is a keen equestrian. Each year, he takes part in a formal event together with his children. He was injured in 2017 when he fell from his horse and broke his foot.
