===Employment===

It is estmiated as of the most recent census that 92% of Hinterians are in some form of employment, with 50% being full time white collar workers, 22% working in manufacturing, and the remaining 20% working in the hospitality and service industries. of the 8% who are unemployed, it is estimated that a rising percentage is made up of people who are not currently seeking work or leaving their homes, a phenomenon classed as Diogenism (placeholder name). This classification applies to people who have not been in employment for more than one year, and who have not left their homes for more than two months. It is currently unknown as to why this phenomenon is on the rise, however it is theorised that it is due to a rising sense of disillusionment with the Hinterian system of work, and a lack of opportunities for young people, as the vast majority of people described as Diogenists are under the age of 25.

Hinterian transport is built mainly around the use of private cars, with ownership of cars growing year on year since the availability of cheap cars in 1912. Cities are linked via a network of highways, which are maintained via the use of a combination of taxes, tolls, and corporate investment. Outside of highways and well populated areas however, roads are infrequently maintained and in poor condition. Public transport usually takes the form of buses and subways, with trains used almost exclusively for travel between cities, commonwealths and other nations. Busses are owned by private corporations in most cities, with the exception of Huntsburg, where the state owned MetroLine is used.

Hinterian artwork is influenced by a wide range of sources. Due to the influx of migrants over the years, Hinteria in the past maintained a solid stream of avante garde artists and architects. Art of the 1920's through to the 1950's leaned heavily towards Art Deco styling, with influence from ancient Cashari and Tagamatine ruins. The influence of this can be seen in Parliament Tower's exterior, whereas the interior conforms to the more traditional Art Deco styling. Prior to this. the neo-Gothic revival style was popular for the vast majority of industrial Hinteria, being the main style of construction from the early 1800's up until the mid 1880's, when the Art Noveau style came into fashion. Due to the solid bedrock of the Hinterian valley, skyscrapers could be easily constructed throughout Hinterian cities, leading to this being the most common form of building in cities.

Visual arts
