The Delamarian Security Service, commonly referred to as the DSS or the Service, is a civilian foreign and domestic intelligence service under the Government of Delamaria. The Service is officially tasked with gathering, processing, and analyzing national security information from both Delamaria and around the world. The agency primarily operates through human and sattelite intelligence, since it absorbed the Aerial Observation Agency. The DSS is the primary member of the Delamarian Intelligence Council, and reports to the Department of National Security since 2021.
Purpose
On the DSS website it proclaims that the DSS has 5 priorities.
- Counterterrorism and Counterintelligence
- Foreign Intelligence gathering
- Supporting Military operations
- Providing Information to Government agencies
- Cyber Intelligence
Organisational structure
The DSS is lead by the Director of Delamarian Security, a position that is currently held by Bruce Axelrod. A deputy, Georgina Anderson, serves under the director, and below that are the division directorates. There are five directorates in the DSS, they are:
- Directorate of Observation and Analysis
- Directorate of Foreign Operations
- Directorate of Domestic Operations
- Directorate of Support
- Directorate of Science, Technology and Cyber-security
