On September 30th, Nozomi Ishiura, a student of Motoharu Polytechnic University, and Kaourantina Jullou, a transfer student from [[Aurivizh]] and friend of Nozomi, planted three powerful home-made time bombs (containing roughly 50 kilograms of explosives) in flower pots in the convention hall of the Motoharu-chū Government Headquarters, where meetings between most political meetings and public hearings were held. The two took advantage of the distracted security during a riot happening outside the building and planted the bombs without being captured.

The Mid-Autumn Riots (Esonian: 中秋暴動; Shu-kin: 中秋騷亂), spanning from September 1st to October 11th, 1960, was a series of mass violence, anti-government demonstrations, terrorism and civil unrest in Motoharu-chū. This series of political demonstrations and upheavals unfolded as a vehement response to the Seylosian end of colonial dominance and the transfer to Esonice governance, embodying the aspirations of the local populace for autonomy and self-governance.

The catalyst for these tumultuous events emanated from internal discord and the Motoharans' pursuit of freedom. Originating in a forceful reaction to a harsh crackdown by colonial authorities due to rising left-wing activities, alarmed by escalating protests, the demonstrations, predominantly led by Motoharan locals, vocalized grievances against corruption and foreign dominance.

Pressured by influential business figures and local authorities within Motoharu-chū, the Esonian colonial government found itself compelled to address the protesters. The concessions made during this critical juncture marked a pivotal shift, resulting in a substantial erosion of Esonian sovereignty over Motoharu-chū. Post the Mid-Autumn Riots, a geopolitical recalibration occurred, with Motoharans assuming de facto control over the territory.

The following transitional phase was met with countless clashes between political factions of the newly independent territories. Due to the previous unity between the left-wing and right-wing groups disintegrated after the riots were over, they resumed the fight over control of the politics of Motoharu-chū, resulting in another series of riots throughout the 1980s.

On September 30th, Nozomi Ishiura, a student of Motoharu Polytechnic University, and Kaourantina Jullou, a transfer student from Aurivizh and friend of Nozomi, planted three powerful home-made time bombs (containing roughly 50 kilograms of explosives) in flower pots in the convention hall of the Motoharu-chū Government Headquarters, where meetings and public hearings were held. The two took advantage of the distracted security during a riot happening outside the building and planted the bombs without being captured.

During most of the morning of October 1st, the bombs lay undetected and meetings between districts' governors, Seylosian representatives, and the Esonian temporary leaders were held to discuss the integration of Motoharu-chū into Esonice went as normal. Around 12:40, many governors and political figures began to leave for lunch when the bombs exploded prematurely. One of the bombs malfunctioned, however, the other two, both planted near the doors leading out of the hall, were successfully denoted. Seven people died: five people were killed instantly (including two Esonians and one Seloysian) while another two died after being hospitalized shortly afterward. Fourteen were injured in the blast, all of whom were Motoharan governors and security personnel. The blast effectively destroyed most of the hall and the west side of the Motoharu-chū Government Headquarters.

The All-Motoharu Federation of Student Self-Government Alliance came out and announced that the bombing was their doing, but the size of the explosion and victims were not in their plan. Many members of the Alliance were arrested on the following day. Nozomi Ishiura, who was later arrested and interrogated, said that the plan was just to kill the right-wing Esonian politician, [blank], who was a vocal advocate for the integration of Motoharu-chū back into Esonice. In 1961, Nozomi Ishiura and [blank] were convicted and sentenced to death.
