The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of the Democratically-aligned nations of Argis, often referred to by its abbreviation CDANA PA is the legislative branch of the Council of the Democratically-aligned nations of Argis, representing the populace of the member states of the pact.

The Parliamentary Assembly currently has 108 members, with each member state having exactly 12 members, of which 10 members are referred to as "ordinary" and two as "supplementary". Elections are not held at the same time in every member state, but each member state ties its elections to its respective national parliamentary elections.

The members are referred to as the Assembly deputees, or ADs for short.

Competences

The Parliamentary Assembly has been granted the following rights:

1. Propose bills to national legislatures of the member states
2. Refer matters to the Court of Justice
3. Initiate, with a supermajority of ⁴/₅, a process to remove a member state
4. Interpellate governmental organs of the member states
5. Carry out election monitoring within the member states
6. Request legal evaluations of the laws and constitutions of member states
7. Set terms on which new member states may join the organization

Elections

The specific electoral law is not defined by CDANA, except for demands, that elections be direct and proportional. It is implied, that elections have to follow the four principles of democratic elections, that being universality, secrecy, freedom and fairness.

Dazhdinia

The elections in Dazhdinia are to take place in conjunction with the House of Representatives, with the representatives being elected for 4 year terms. Since the House of Representatives can not be dissolved, the term of the ordinary ADs is permanently set to start on May 20th of the election year.

Elections are carried out using single transferable vote with modified Werner sub-constituency balancing applied to all of the states, ensuring that each of the 6 member states recieves at least one AD.

Citizens aged 18 and above on the day of the election are eligible to vote, citizens aged 21 and above on the day of the election are eligible to run for office.

The two supplementary members are the former President and the former Prime Minister, that served as the last before the current President or Prime Minister.

Walneria

Following the extraordinary 2023 by-election (which took place at the same time as a referendum), the elections in Walneria are to take place in conjunction with the National Assembly or the Grand National Assembly, with the representatives being elected until they are replaced by the next set of representatives. Since both the National Assembly and the Grand National Assembly are subject to dissolution, and the possibility of slightly postponing the election through the works of the Interim Legislative Committee, the terms have no specified lenght. They generally start on the first Saturday that is outside of the 2 week window following the elections, in which objections can be raised.

Elections are carried out on open party lists using the Sainte-Laguë method with modified Werner sub-constituency balancing to ensure the representation of the Ustokan Settlement Area and the Malenik Settlement Area by at least one representative each.

Citizens aged over 18 and above on the second day of the election are eligible to both run for office and vote.

The two supplementary members are the former President and the former Prime Minister, that served as the last before the current President or Prime Minister. Should the Prime Minister or the President win in a reelection and secure a second term, they get to appoint representatives that stand in for them during their second term.
