The Warden Defense Corp is the Armed Forces of the Republic of Pentium, currently made up of three branches. The Warden Land Army, Warden Navy and Warden Airforce, all three branches answer to the Minister of Defense and his ministry. The ministry of defense is located in Whedon's Row, however each branch typically has headquarters in other important cities closer to important bases and locations. The armed forces have roughly 215,000 active personnel spread across all three branches, and 315,000 members in reserve forces across the branches. The mandate of the WDC is the preservation of the territory and people of the Republic of Pentium by whatever means necessary, which the WDC has been managing since its inception in 1820. The predecessor to the WDC was the now defunct North River Federation Milita, which was integrated into the WDC after the change in government.
Ministry of Defense
The ministry of defense is the main body that oversees the military in Republic of Pentium, their main office is situated in Whedon's Row. The minister of defense is appointed by the president, and approved by parliament. It oversees all activities encompassing procurement, budgets, planning, deployments, recruitment and high-level promotions. The ministry resides in Whedon's row with the Warden Land Army, where several barracks and training centers are located, the Warden Navy has split itself into two separate commands, Warden Naval Command East and West, having bases and barracks in both Saltbrook Channel and Jade Cove. While the Warden Airforce has based itself in Blemish.
Senior General
The Senior General is the highest ranking officer in the Warden Lard Army, typically the rank is granted to whoever is the longest serving general in the Warden Land Army and holds authority over the entirety of the army. Responsible for maintaining readiness, field operations and planning alongside the minister of defense and the President of the Republic. The office is sometimes seen as a ceremonial position by those who hold the title, due to the minor name change. However the office comes with several perks and authority over the budgeting considerations and the consequences for the WLA as a whole.
High Admiral
The High Admiral is the ranking navy officer in the fleet, the rank is granted during a lengthy process of drills and naval exercises. It is mostly a ceremonial process, but is meant to test the abilities of several prospective admirals for the position of High Admiral. Their main priority is maintaining naval readiness, vessel condition and planning alongside the minister of defense. Unlike the position of Senior General in the WLA, the title of High Admiral is a position that is seen with admiration and a deep respect by navy service members, one of the oldest titles in the Republic's military that is given out to its most capable and gallant of admirals within the navy.
Chief Airman
The Chief Airman is the ranking officer of the Airforce, much like the Senior General, the rank is granted to the longest serving air officer in the airforce and holds authority of the Warden Airforce. The role is a relatively recent introduction to the armed forces, but has many of the same responsibilities as the other ranks. A relatively new position to go with the third branch of the military, it was seen with some dismissal and distrust from the other two offices after its creation. However, with the undeniable importance and potential of aircraft in the modern world, the title has become a sought after and respected position within the military.
