The 2022 UENA World Cup is scheduled to be the next UENA World Cup competition, the quadrennial international men's association football championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of UENA. It was scheduled to take place in either Prymont or Oyus.[1] However, the ongoing Grand War led to the event first being postponed, and later cancelled.
Controversy
It seemed as if the 2022 world cup might not see the reigning champions SSI Blacksuns return due to the political turmoil in their home country. Sunset Sea Islands experienced a coup in April 2021. Strongman Colonel Ishijima declared a state of emergency, including a blanket travel ban.[2] This travel ban will severely limit the qualification opportunities for the Sunset Sea Islandian team.
