The Parliament of Dazhdinia is the tricameral legislature of Dazhdinia. It consists of the Senate, the House of Representatives and the Control House.

Elections in the Senate

The Senate of Dazhdinia is split into four groups, three of which cover all but one seat and have a term of 6 years, with each group having election offset from the other two by two years respectively. The elections are done using single-seat constituencies and with two-round system. The last group, consisting of a single deputy elected from abroad, is elected along with the House of Representatives and therefore has a four year term.

Elections in the House of representatives

The House of Representatives is elected using Hare quota in 14 multi-mandate constituencies. The term is 4 years.

Elections in the Control House

The Control House is elected using cumulative voting with three members elected in each member state.

Joint session

Composition during joint sessions

All three chambers of the parliament of the parliament meet in a joint session on following occasions:

  • Election of a new president
  • Impeachment of a standing president
  • Impeachment of a standing prime minister
  • Hearing an address from the prime minister or an address from the president
  • Hearing a verdict of the Supreme Court or the Constitutional Court
  • Hearing speeches of the representants of foreign countries
  • Vote of no confidence
  • Voting about stripping of the parliamentary immunity
  • Voting on the government budget
  • Annual address to the Nation (traditionally on 31st December)
