Andrew Van Roose is a Delamarian foreign service officer, businessman, advisor and is most notably serving as First Gentleman of Delamaria as he is married to President of Delamaria Deborah Van Roose. Born into a prominent family, he is the son of former Vandergart Speaker of the House, George Van Roose and Director of the Yorkerdam Classical Arts Centre, Anne Leckhampstead. He is the nephew of former President James Leckhampstead Sr. through his mother, and cousin of Providence Governor James Leckhampsted Jr..

He attended the University of New Chester, studying International relations, hoping to one day become a high ranking diplomat. It was in New Chester that he met his future wife, Deborah Meyer, who was studying Constitutional Law. After University, Van Roose would join the Delamarian Foreign service, and worked in the Delamarian Embassy in Fravina for two years, while his new wife was working in congressional offices. He returned to Delamaria in 1986, and was hired as a Foreign Policy consultant for the Democracy Foundation, a right leaning think tank in Labrador. He would work there until 1995, when he and three friends founded Westec-Politicy, a political concultancy and risk management company, with offices in Labrador, Alberta and Eastminster. The service was a success and gained clients such as Vice President Gerald Ferraro, and then Secretary of Defence and future President Herbert Walker-Busch.

He continued to work there full-time until 2012, when he was offered the position of Deputy Director of Policy at the Department of Foreign Affairs. Van Roose became a silent partner at Westec-Politicy after this, and continues to this day. Van Roose supported his wife's 2016 bid for the United Party Presidential nomination, having served as a Senator and Delegate for almost two decades. However convinced his wife two accept Pierre Monroe's offer to make her his running mate in the 2016 election, should she drop out.

Van Roose served as the first ever Second Gentleman of Delamaria in 2016, and continued his work at the Department of Foreign Affairs until 2017. He spent much of his time working along side First Lady Mary Monroe, with her programs to get more young people to work in public service, he also regularly advised his wife and the president of foreign policy matters.

After the November 22nd Attacks, his wife was sworn in as President of Delamaria, making her the first female President of the Commonwealth. This subsequently made Andrew the first First Gentleman of Delamaria. Van Roose has continued working to entice young people into a life in public service, with new Second Lady Laurel Patton.
