Honeysuckle ceased correspondence on 21 June 1872, and was declared missing one week later by Fravi authorities. On 12 July 1872, the Fravi merchant ship [[S.S. Azalea]] discovered the Honeysuckle just south of [[Labrador]], [[Delamaria]]. The only known survivor, a cook named [[Vie Couteau]], died from heat stroke two days after being discovered by the Azalea.
