Littland, officially the Republic of Littland, is an Eurth country located in Argis. Littland has an area of 198,000 km² (76,000 sq mi) and has a population of a little over 21 million. While Littish is the country's official language, the Malskic language is a recognised regional language, mainly spoken in the south. The major cities in Littland include the capital of Kaslund, Klinstrup, Aalhavn and Frankerup.

Littland is located near the Amber Lake, bordering Walneria in the south, Estimeria in the east and Drakon and Sanarija in the west. Littland also has maritime borders with Baltica, Fina and Obbola. Two river run though Littland, the larger Arup river in the west, on which Kaslund is located and the smaller Hinge river in the east.

The history of Littland spans thousands of years but Littland in its modern form, as unified entity starts around 1050 with the first records of a consolidated Littish Kingdom. Littland was an absolute monarchy until 1878 where King Helge III was forced to accept a constitution. When King Helge died in 1910 the country was under what is known as the Walter Regency, where Regent Walter Nordskov ran as a de facto military junta. Following Nordskovs assassination in 1913, the first prime minister of the Federal Republic of Littland, Torsten Einarsen, helped direct Littland back towards democracy.

After 1913 Littland experienced economic growth and internal stability even through tumultuous times for Eurth. In the 1990's however Littland suffered a major recession and saw greater social tensions through the 1990's and 2000's. The 2010's saw the rise of the Littish Democrats after the first female prime minister of Littland, Viktoria Wolff, resigned and issued elections after which Albert Simonsen became prime minister. In 2022 the constitution was changed after a referendum and Littland abolished its federal system and became a unicameral parliamentary republic, with the Malskic Autonomous Republic established in Malskic majority areas.

Littland is a developed economy and offers social security, universal health care and tuition-free university in what is called a social market economy. Littland is a member of the Assembled Nations.

Climate

Littland has a temperate climate characterized by its proximity to Amber Lake to its north. The country experiences mild winters, cool summers and a relatively stable weather. Due to Littlands northern location there are large variations in daylight between seasons.

Politics

Littland is a parliamentary republic. The countrys legislature is the Folkekammer, which is elected through party-list proportional representation. Littlands political system operates under the 2022 Littish Constitution, which promotes human rights, separation of power, secularism, personal freedom.

Military

The armed forces of Littland, Forsvarsstyrken, is organized into Hæren (Army), Flåden (Navy) and Flyvevåbnet (Air Force) as well as Civilforsvaret acting as Home Guard. As of 2021, Forsvarsstyrken has a strength of 78,000 active soldiers. Conscription was abolished in 2006 and ever since Forsvarsstyrken has been volunteer based. Military spending has slightly increased under current Prime Minister Albert Simonsen, in power since 2016, with the stated goal of eventually reaching 6% before 2025 and modernizing the equipment of the Army.

Littlands foreign relations are managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, currently lead by Foreign Minister Chris Clemensen. The country has only recently gone away from a previous isolationist stance in international politics and is establishing new embassies in the Diplomatic District of Verdenspladsen in the capital Kaslund. The country is a member of the Assembled Nations.

Littish media and news programming are dominated by a few large corporations. In printed media, OPA Media owns the largest newspapers. In television, the publicly owned station LTV has a large share of total viewer numbers, competing with privately owned channels from Bravo Broadcasting who air their own productions.

Sports

The national sport is football, the top four levels in Littland are managed by the Littish Football Association (LFU) and the country's premier football competition is the 14-team EliteLiga. Other popular sports include handball, cycling, badminton and swimming. Sport is encouraged in school, and there are local sports clubs in most cities and towns.
